Year 11 Mrs Taylor: Love’s Philosophy

This is a poem where Shelley tries to convince his listener to show him physical intimacy . His argument rests on the examples from nature of harmonious union and elements ‘mingling’ . In each stanza he ends on a note of frustration (think about links to Farmer’s Bride!)

I should be back for the start of the lesson but please make a start on the Power point slides. Listen to the poem (slide 1) then make notes on The poet (slide 2) then in pairs discuss and make notes on slides 4-6 (this should take 10 minutes) . Then make a start on the group work in ‘colour groups’ .
